چکیده

Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a very common reproductive endocrine disorder. Altered cardiovascular autonomic modulation and oxidative stress may predispose PCOS patients to cardiac events in the long term. Objective: To assess relationship between sympathetic reactivity with polycystic syndrome. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted Department of Physiology, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Shahbag, Dhaka from September 2018 August 2019 on 35 newly diagnosed obese (BMI ?25kg/m2) aged 20-35 years. Age BMI matched apparently healthy subjects were also enrolled. Two noninvasive conventional function tests, such as systolic blood pressure (SBP) fall during active standing diastolic (DBP) rise sustained handgrip all for evaluation reactivity. For assessment stress, plasma malondialdehyde level oxidant catalase antioxidant measured by spectrophotometry. statistical analysis Independent sample “t” test, Pearson’s correlation test multiple regression done. Results: In this had significantly higher resting heart rate, SBP DBP than control (p<0.01). Fall lower (p<0.05) while compared control. Plasma (p<0.01) (p<0.001) comparison On analysis, showed significant negative PCOS. association positive Conclusion: Based these results it concluded that measures related J Bngladesh Soc Physiol 2021;16(1): 61-69

Role of Oxidative Stress in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Introduction: Polycystic ovary syndrome is one of the most common causes of infertility. 6 to 8 percent of women of childbearing age have this endocrine disorder. Biochemical abnormalities in these patients lead to imbalance of female hormones and increased androgens, which can have consequences such as menstrual cycle disorder, hirsutism, acne vulgaris and androgenic alopecia. Despite the long...

Relationship between Serum Levels of Anti-Mullerian Hormone, Adiponectin and Oxidative Stress Markers in Patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine disorder in women of reproductive age. Anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) is a valid indicator of ovarian function and is used for PCOS diagnosis. Some studies have shown that adipokines affect the synthesis of AMH, and therefore they are somehow related in function. The aim of the present study was to determine the relationshi...

Roles of Oxidative Stress in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and Cancers

Oxidative stress (OS) has received extensive attention in the last two decades, because of the discovery that abnormal oxidation status was related to patients with chronic diseases, such as diabetes, cardiovascular, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), cancer, and neurological diseases. OS is considered as a potential inducing factor in the pathogenesis of PCOS, which is one of the most common co...
